Real Industry Job Interview (RIJI)
Professional Development for Secondary Teachers
As part of the INLLEN's Real Industry Job Interview event for secondary schools, the INLLEN put together a Steering Committee and Working Group to develop a resource for teachers to prepare students for the RIJI event. Wesley along with other local Employment Service Providers - Break Thru, Work Skils and Sarina Russo joined forces to create the resource along with a Professional Development workshop to train the teachers how to use this valuable resource. The group identified areas that students need to improve on based on the INLLEN's feedback from employers and their own experience of interviewing students from previous years.

The Australian Government Jobs and Skills Expo
The Australian Government Jobs and Skills Expo is coming to the City of Hume and will be held at the
Broadmeadows Leisure Centre /Netball Stadium from 10.00 am – 3.00 pm on Tuesday, 15 May 2012.
The Expo will bring with it hundreds of jobs and skills training opportunities for job seekers including youth in the region.
Since October 2009, 42 Jobs and Skills Expos have been held across Australia, connecting more than
157,000 people with employment and training opportunities.
Local job seekers, businesses, recruitment agencies, training and educational organisations from the region
are encouraged to get involved in the Expo, which is part of the Australian Government’s ‘Building Australia’s Future Workforce’ package.
It is never too late to up-skill, re-skill or re-engage in the workforce, and the Jobs and Skills Expo
provides an excellent opportunity for local job seekers and people interested in undertaking further
skills training to meet a range of employers and training providers under one roof.
The Expo will be a ‘jobs and skills marketplace’, where job seekers can do six weeks worth
of job searching on one day!
Local employers and training providers are urged to get involved in the Expo and help
get local people back to work and education.
The event is free for both job seekers and exhibitors so come and see us at the Wesley Stand. There’s also a free sausage sizzle.

Supa IGA Footscray's Grand Opening
